Ayurvedic Pada Abhyanga Foot Massage

Ayurvedic Foot Massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that works holistically by assisting to stabilize the body and mind. Ayurvedic Foot Massage has been in existence in India for centuries and works on the feet and lower limbs. The feet are known to be the seat of the meridians with many nerve endings, neural receptors and Marma.

Reflexology, which targets the 'reflex' points, corresponds with the body’s organs and systems. Ayurvedic Foot Massage gives attention by manipulating Marma, which is considered as ‘distribution centres’ in the body where Prana is converted, regulated and stored for the use of the gross body and mind. In total, there are 108 Marmas throughout the body and several of these are situated on the legs & feet, stimulating the body's own innate ability to stabilize and harmonize the Doshas.

Obstruction of Prana’s or Life energy’s correct distribution, caused by external accidents and injuries and also psychological disturbances due to passions etc, can be felt in the Marmas. The Marmas are subtle and invisible but their state can be understood among other things by means of thought and touch.
