Yoga for the Doshas according to the Ayurvedic
Principles
This is a practice based on your individual needs and is a major component of your Ayurvedic treatment protocol (which also includes correct dietetics/food, herbal support, Ayurvedic massage, and knowledge and application of Ayurvedic Lifestyle management techniques).
In the short term this yoga practice will help to support the therapy program you are undergoing. In the longer term developing a yoga practice will give you a supportive daily routine and assist you in developing the discipline necessary to successfully manage your life using the laws of Ayurveda.
Yoga therapy works on your body internally as Ayurvedic massage does externally. All therapies are in fact working on the subtle energies of the body and mind, through the concept of marma philosophy. Yoga for Doshas progressively replaces massage as a detoxification tool.

Ayurveda and Yoga
Ayurveda, the traditional 'Science of Life', is the knowledge of the Self and the management of one's essential constitution. This ancient science utilises diet, herbs, massage, pranayama, and meditation as part of a holistic healing system that parallels the practices of Yoga. Fundamental to Ayurveda is the acknowledgement that each of us is uniquely different from one another; what is suitable and correct for one individual can be completely different for someone else.
Ayurveda and Hatha Yoga practices become very much intertwined, as understanding individual differences helps us to understand which Yoga path and practice will be most supportive and compatible to each person.
We work continuously using the knowledge and tools that Ayurveda provides to prepare the field and develop stability and firmness in order to reach a state of Yoga.
It must be recognised that all is Prana, and that the proper flow of Prana within the Body/Mind concept has to be undisturbed/unobstructed if good health and vitality are to be experienced. However, those who have excess of any Doshas (imbalances) will find Prana being obstructed or denied to certain tissues and organs and other subtle bodies, including the Mind, emotions and etc. In order to correct these situations, to allow Prana to flow properly and unobstructed, excess Doshas/toxins have to be removed.
This Yoga practice will include Hatha Yoga practices specific for the Doshas, helping individuals to develop a yoga practice to give them a supportive daily routine and to assist them to develop the discipline necessary to successfully manage their life using the laws of Ayurveda. These classes will also present the students with an opportunity to learn more about Ayurveda and their specific constitution. Sessions may include Aasanas, Pranayama, Mudras, and Mantras specific for Vata, Pitta, and Kapha Doshas.
Yoga for the Doshas is considered one of the primary detoxification tools we can use in support to Ayurvedic massage, herbs, dietetics, and other means of managing one's lifestyle correctly. The Hatha Yoga sequences mimic Ayurvedic massage techniques as they are, in fact, an internal process of massage. Thus, through Hatha Yoga practices we will use postures in conjunction with breath work to carry out correction and restoration of disturbed tissues, organs, and subtle bodies, allowing Prana to flow more freely.
